Christian Mindfulness?

Christian Mindfulness? | Meditative Prayer | Scoop.it

For those unfamiliar with the term, mindfulness is the English term for Buddhist meditation. The practice found its way into the therapy world in large part due to its demonstrated efficacy in stress reduction and preventing relapse of clinical depression. The latter finding came as a great surprise in the most unexpected of places – the stereotypically stuffy, bow tie-wearing British accent-donning academic world of Oxford University. Brother Lawrence resolved to make the “Love of God” the purpose of all his actions. He found such satisfaction in this practice that he felt the same intensity of the presence of God when he was working in the kitchen as he did at daily prayers. He purposed all actions for the love, praise and joy of God.

This is mindfulness from a Christian perspective.
